YES, there are people who find cultural appropriation and the use of slurs “ok” with them.
Does that mean it’s “ok” to do it to EVERYONE, even if they might be personally offended by it?
Also it is very important to realize that your irl friends saying this shit is ok may be out of a desire to not start drama and get into arguments. I fucking detest when straight people say faggot but I have a few straight friends who do and it is just not worth the shit to tell them to stop.
Friends don’t suddenly forget you’re black or gay. That’s them letting their privilege creep in. I’ve made it a point to not ask them to stop, but call them out in the way that’s least comfortable for them. I don’t need to ask them to not say it. Instead, I take away their privilege. I call them out, and when they try to excuse their behavior, I don’t allow it. You’d be surprised how quickly a person stops using those words when you don’t allow them the freedom to be ignorant about oppressive behavior. In my experience, people don’t stop engaging in oppressive behavior until it’s made uncomfortable for them to do so.
Gettin sick of that false equality mindset that’s flying around.
Finally, a comic I’d get behind!
